Book Beginnings on Friday

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

Will Grayson, Will Grayson by John Green and David Levithan

When I was little, my dad used to tell me, "Will, you can pick your friends, and you can pick your nose, but you can't pick your friend's nose." p.3

Gosh, does everyone's Dad say that? I know mine did. So far this YA book is a fun read.

My nephew would love to get his hands on Will Grayson. Thanks for sharing this book. Here is an opening line from the book I am reading called, "The Ovary Wars," by Mike Hogan. Enjoy!:

"“Come on, Mrs. Martin, pushhh, pushhh. That’s it. Push. You’re almost there Mrs. Martin. Come on. Push. Push.” Everybody in the room seemed to be yelling at her. The pain was excruciating, and she felt like her entire abdomen was exploding. She just couldn’t do any more."

Fun first sentence! I've heard that Green and Levithan are great authors but haven't read anything by either. I hope you enjoy Will Grayson, Will Grayson.

Great advice. I would definitely be a bit freaked out if one of my friends tried to pick my nose. Actually, my boyfriend tries to gross me out by trying to pick mine, ewww.

Nope, I can honestly say that my father never said that. Although he certainly said a lot of other things that make me laugh when I remember them now. (He's been gone 18 years . . . )
