you're right, darn it. I really wish they had a compiled list for each decade as otherwise this is more of a random snapshot of the bestsellers, not a definitive list. Hm. Will keep my eyes peeled for a better list.
I see an interesting trend through these lists, which you may or may not agree with. As time marches on, the divide between "bestsellers" and "best literature" is increasing.
This is fascinating, regardless of the exact meaning of the numbers. I am sort of amazed that I haven't read more than 2 of the books listed, and I thought I was well read!
