Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.
"I was a bond salesman, on Wall Street and in London. Working beside traders at Salomon Brothers put me, I believe, at the epicenter of one of those events that help to define an age."
This is a fascinating tale, and I'm intrigued so far. In fact, I'm wondering if this might inspire me to finally pick up Bonfire of the Vanities, but I doubt it (I own it.) On the one hand, this world of bond teading is completely foreign to me. On the other hand, I was inspired to read it after having a Sex and the City marathon, as it is so New York, and as I wasn't able to attend BEA, I was actually feeling a little nostalgic for NYC.
