Book Beginnings on Friday

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Becky at Page Turners. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

Obscene in the Extreme: The Burning and Banning of John Steinbeck's the Grapes of Wrath by Rick Wartzman

"The lights dimmed and dimmed some more, and the darkness fell upon the Big Room."

Interesting that a book about banning books starts off in the dark.

That is a very ironic opening sentence. I've seen this book mentioned on a couple of blogs. Hope you find it interesting! Here's my beginnings: http://myreadersblock.blogspot.com/2010/10/book-beginnings.html
