Book Beginnings on Friday: John Adams

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Katy from A Few More Pages. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

John Adams by David McCullough

"In the cold, nearly colorless light of a New England winter, two men on horseback traveled the coast road below Boston, heading north."

That is a good opener...it sets the scene and tells us that a journey has begun. Now we have to read more to find out what happens along the way....

Here's my post for FRIDAY MEMES

Hi!
That first sentence would have grabbed me. I would want to see where the journey goes. Have a great day!

O that is good.

I started this mini series awhile back and you've reminded me I totally need to finish it.

PS
Thanks for your great advice.

Great opening -- and ditto on reminding me to start it -- looks so good!
