Teaser Tuesdays: Let's Take the Long Way Home

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.

Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Let's Take the Long Way Home: A Memoir of Friendship by Gail Caldwell p. 13

"Finding Caroline was like placing a personal ad for an imaginary friend, then having her show up at your door funnier and better than you had conceived. Apart, we had each been frightened drunks and aspiring writers and dog lovers; together, we became a small corporation."

I think that's what we all dream of in a best friend - our imaginary friends but better. Sadly, Gail and Caroline were only to be friends for 5 years.

That sounds interesting. But why were they only to be friends for 5 years? Have you found out yet?

Oh, I love that teaser! I thoroughly enjoyed Let's Take the Long Way Home, and afterwards, found Drinking: A Love Story, which I read last week (about Caroline).

Thanks for sharing.

Terrific teasers from an intriguing book!

Your teaser piques my interest in Gail Caldwell's book which I already want to read! It's so sad that these women were only friends for 5 years because it sounds as if they were made to be friends.

I hope you're enjoying the book!

Ah, that sounds like a great friendship. It's sad that it only lasted 5 years, but at least it is some amazing time together, and memories forever. Nice teaser!
