Teaser Tuesdays: Still Alice

Teaser Tuesdays is hosted by Should Be Reading.

Grab your current read. Open to a random page. Share two (2) “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page. BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!) Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers!

Still Alice by Lisa Genova p. 21

"She wanted to continue walking but stood frozen instead. She didn't know where she was."

This must be terrifying. She was only a few blocks from home, in the neighborhood where she worked. How can you suddenly not know where you are, when you're in a place you are every day?

Read this years ago and enjoyed it. I hope you are liking it too.

The only other book I've read featuring a character with Alzheimer's was a Nicholas Sparks book and even then it was written from the perspective of her husband (not the woman with Alzheimer's). This sounds like quite a heavy, heart wrenching book, but also quite topical. I shall watch out for it. Hope you're enjoying this one. Thanks for sharing.

This scene is definitely frightening. Is she losing her mind? Suffering from dementia? Your Teaser made me want to know more about what's happening to this character.
My Teaser is from SMOKE, WINGS & STONE.
