Book Beginnings: Dark Places

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Gilion at Rose City Reader. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

Dark Places by Gillian Flynn

"I have a meanness inside me, real as an organ."

It's hard to blame Libby for her anger and resentment, given that her entire family has been brutally murdered with the exception of her brother who was convicted of the crime.

I've only read Gone Girl by Flynn which I enjoyed (though that doesn't seem like quite the right word for the book). I've had this on my library list forever but haven't gotten to it yet. It definitely sounds like she has a reason for being angry! I'll have to bump this up the list. Thanks for sharing!

I'm the only person who hasn't read Gone Girl yet. I'll start with that one.

Thanks for posting the beginning on BBOF!
