Book Beginnings: The Distance

Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme hosted by Gilion at Rose City Reader. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.

The Distance by Helen Giltrow

"There's blood in my hair. Twelve hours and I've still got blood in my hair."

Karla's in trouble. The cops are there, there's a lot of blood, and her plan went all to hell.

That's a great beginning. I'm wondering what plan she had and why she has blood in her hair, and I'd keep reading to get answers.
My Friday post features VIDAL’S HONOR.
