“Waiting On” Wednesday: My Fair Lazy

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week's pre-publication “can't-wait-to-read” selection is:

My Fair Lazy: One Reality Television Addict's Attempt to Discover If Not Being a Dumb Ass Is the New Black; Or, a Culture-up Manifesto by Jen Lancaster

from the publisher: The New York Times bestselling author of Pretty in Plaid chronicles her efforts to achieve cultural enlightenment by reading canonical literature, viewing classic films, attending the opera, and researching artisan cheeses.

Coming out from New American Library (Penguin USA) on 5/4/10
personal note: I love these stunt memoirs! And as an added bonus, this one encourages snobbiness which I think sounds fantastic.

Haha, I think snobbiness should be encouraged!!

Ooo, that looks like lots of fun! It's going on my TBR list. My pick is here.

Definitely has a zany feel to it. Should have some humorous moments.

I want to read this one too - I love her snarky tone and it sounds like it will be in full effect in this one!

Thanks Booksnyc - I hadn't looked up her other book, aside from the one mentioned in the pub bio (which I hadn't heard of). I didn't realize this is the same author as Bitter is the New Black and Such a Pretty Fat, both of which I've heard great things about (although haven't read them yet).
