It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

This meme is now hosted by Sheila at One Persons Journey Through a World of Books.

Books completed last week:
The Long Winter by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Little Town on the Prairie by Laura Ingalls Wilder
These Happy Golden Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder

Books I am currently reading/listening to:
Pretty in Plaid: A Life, a Witch, and a Wardrobe, or, the Wonder Years Before the Condescending, Egomanical, Self-Centered Smart-Ass Phase by Jen Lancaster
I Was Told There'd Be Cake by Sloane Crosley
Books: A Memoir by Larry McMurtry
The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton

I rarely have this many books going at once. But my BF reminded me that I can pick my first book of 2011, and I decided to go with the Jen Lancaster as I know it's really funny, and I've been saving it. Good to start the year off with a laugh. The McMurtry is one I don'tneed to read all the way through all at once. I can read it in bits and it's great that way. In fact, it might be too much all at once. I like the Wharton, but it's a mass market and I'm traveling again next weekend and mass markets travel so well, I think it'll be fine with a week's break in the middle. The Crosley I am really not liking as much as I'd been lead to believe I would, but I'm going to stick it out. After all, it's an audio so it's not much trouble to read, and I did pay for it.

Up Next:
The First Four Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder
Clan of the Cave Bear by Jean Auel (book club is at end of January)

The title of your Lancaster novel is hilarious! If the rest of the book is as good, it should be a wonderful read! Ashamed to say that I haven't yet read The Age of Innocence, but I have promised myself that this year I will be reading more classics - started with Anna Karenina :). Audio books are weird for me; unless the narration is superb, I always find myself thinking, "I think I would like this better on paper". Happy New Year!

I enjoyed both The First Four Years and The Age of Innocence. Happy reading.

I didn't get as much reading last week. I have been sick with a cold and I was traveling.
