Book Beginnings on Friday is a meme originally hosted by Katy from A Few More Pages but now hosted by Gilion at Rose City Reader. Anyone can participate; just share the opening sentence of your current read, making sure that you include the title and author so others know what you're reading.
Clara and Mr. Tiffany: A Novel by Susan Vreeland
"I opened the beveled-glass door under the sign announcing Tiffany Glass and Decorating Company in ornate bronze."
Seems very appropriate that the word "glass" would appear in the first sentence (and not just in the name of the company.)

This one sounds intriguing...thanks for sharing. I love the cover, too.
Here's MY FRIDAY MEMES POST
Nice start and good tie in to the title. Here is my post.
Book Beginnings
Hi Carin,
These first lines were intriguing enough to make me want to check out the full synopsis, together with that alluring cover.
This is definitely heading for my reading list, especially as it talks about stained glass windows and that is what the US side of my family are heavily involved in and have been for the last 60 years, in a family business in California.
Thanks for the introduction to this one and I hope that you enjoy it.

I'm wary of novels involving real people ever since I read that one about Frank Lloyd Wright -- Loving Frank -- that ended with such surprising (for me) violence. But I just looked this one up and it looks very interesting.
Thanks for participating in Book Beginnings on Fridays!
You right about using the word glass in that sentence. It establishes the essence of the book right from the start.
A very interesting beginning, I think I will have to look for this one. I love the cover!
Interesting beginning.
I absolutely adored this book! I hope you enjoy it as much as I did!
I've been wondering about this book. Hope you enjoy it!
